The basis for Turboencabulator was improvised on February 12, 2012 by Billy Franklin (Bass), Reid Kruger (Drums), Tom Schroeder (Guitar) and Jonathan Zorn (Analog Synthesizer). Tom edited and arranged the raw material from the improvisation and additional musicians improvised with a written motive on top of that: Chris Cotes ( Trumpet), Pat O’ Keefe (Bb and Bass Clarinets) and Jacqueline Ultan (Cello). Brian Judd performed the voice of the narrator. Jonathan manipulated the narrator’s voice and deconstructed two sections in violent fashion and, there you have it, Turboencabulator.
