Waschering Maschine is a band of improvised music formed by Reid Kruger (drums), Tom Schroeder (guitar), Billy Franklin (bass, mantra sounds, found samples, theremin), and Jonathan Zorn (analog synthesizer and guitar). Raw material might be preserved intact or edited and arranged to become songs in an "attempt to impose a slight order upon the spontaneous overflow that is the jamming and make the music more accessible, while preserving the logic of the jams" (album notes). 

Musicians who have participated in the jams and recordings of the band include Kim Serene Anderson (vibes), Anthony Gatto (samples and keyboards), Mattress Giant (rhodes), Chris Cotes (trumpet), Pat O' Keefe (Bb and Bass Clarinets), Jacqueline Ultan (cello), Devin Hill (guitar), Jey Orff (keys), and Bruce Cook (vocals).
