This recording began when Tom fell of a ladder and broke his elbow on Nov. 6, 2013. He lay in bed at night, on painkillers, listening to the two Latvian sisters who had lived previously in the house sing liturgical music. For the two months that he couldn’t play guitar he began to mine the jam database and construct the foundations for 15 songs. In parellel, time re-emerged and Billy began to make Fata Morganas III and IV. In June of 2014, Reid and Billy and Tom began to overdub parts on the foundation tracks which seemed the best candidates to become songs. Reid made a couple of tunes on his own and we had enough material for an album. This is our attempt to impose a slight order upon the spontaneous overow that is the jamming and make the music more accessible, while still preserving the logic of the jams.
